Quick hitter: Cotuit beats Falmouth for second straight night

Posted by Katherine Ware
/ August 1, 2021

Score/result: Cotuit 12-9 Falmouth

Cotuit hitter of the game: Eric Brown (Coastal Carolina) had another fantastic night at the plate, notching two hits and driving in two runs. Brown’s night was capped off by a moonshot home run that resulted in a bat flip you will have to see to believe.

Cotuit hit of the game: Noah Bridges (UNC-Wilmington) smashed an opposite field double in the bottom of the third to score two and make the score 4-0 in favor of the Kettleers. “Big hit Bridges” has lived up to his nickname over the last few days, as the lefty has been clutch all season.

Cotuit pitcher of the game: Dalton Rogers (Southern Miss) tossed three strong innings, giving up one earned run on two hits. The lefty kept the Falmouth offense at bay while the Cotuit lineup settled into a big lead.

Key stat: 7. That’s the the number of runs that the Cotuit offense put up in the bottom of the third. The Kettleers smashed six hits in the inning, capped off by a Matthew Suggs (UNC-Wilmington) two-run homer.
