Score/result: Cotuit 4-3 Falmouth
Cotuit pitcher of the game: Justin Meis (Eastern Michigan) earned the win on Sunday, throwing five shutout innings. The right-hander was efficient, striking out seven and surrendering just one hit. After turning in a solid start against Brewster last week, Meis was able to get stretched out in the game, giving the Kettleers bullpen some much needed rest.
Cotuit hit/hitter of the game: In the top of the third RJ Schreck (Duke) got Cotuit on the board with a two-RBI single. The Kettleers offense has struggled as of late, so an early lead for Cotuit was a breath of fresh air. Schreck will look to provide some consistency to the Ketts lineup for the rest of the summer.
Cotuit pitching moment of the game: After coming in during the seventh, Andre Granillo (UC-Riverside) was back out for the ninth to try and secure the win for the Kettleers. With two outs and a runner on third, Granillo was able to evade the threat and earn the save. Granillo was solid for Cotuit, throwing 2.2 innings. and getting the save.
