The Cotuit Kettleers have seen their first former player taken off the board in the 2021 MLB draft. John Rhodes (Kentucky) was selected in the third round with the 76th overall pick by the Baltimore Orioles.
Rhodes played in nine games as a Kettleer this summer. The Kentucky product collected ten hits as he compiled a .303 batting average. Before leaving the Cape, Rhodes led the Kettleers with five doubles. He also had five RBI and four runs scored. The outfielder had hits in eight of nine games he played in during his time in Cotuit. He finished his summer with a .779 OPS.

In two years at Kentucky, Rhodes hit .294 with 12 home runs. He hit .426 in his freshman year as he was named the freshman of the year. This past season, he hit .251 with a .508 slugging percentage and 11 homers.
