The Cotuit Kettleers have notched their first Cape League weekly honor of the season. Jake Smith (Miami) has been named the Cape Cod League Pitcher of the Week for week two of the season.

Smith picked up two wins this past week with two dominant outings. His first win came against Hyannis on June 28th. Against the Harborhawks, Smith struck out 10 batters and allowed just two hits over five scoreless innings. The Miami product pounded the zone as he allowed just one walk.

It was more of the same for Smith on Monday night as he became the first pitcher to pick up a W against Bourne. The hurler tossed another five scoreless innings to bring his scoreless innings streak to 10. Against the Braves, he struck out just two but limited the hard contact with a handfull of ground balls. He allowed six hits and walked just one batter for the second straight outing.
