Earlier this week, the Cape Cod League announced their 2021 All-Stars. Three of those All-Stars were Kettleers. Jake Brooks (UCLA), Eric Brown Jr. (Coastal Carolina), and Luke Gold (Boston College) were all named West Division All-Stars. Our sideline reporter Lauren Kirkley (Clemson) sat down with each of the All-Stars to talk about their 2021 seasons.
Brooks has a 2.14 ERA over 29.1 innings pitched. He’s walked just three batters and struck out 21. The UCLA product has allowed one earned run or less in five of seven appearances on the mound. He leads Cotuit with three wins.
Brown Jr. has a .259 average and .745 OPS. The middle infielder is tied for the team lead with 21 hits and leads the team with eight stolen bases. He has just one error over 24 games in Cotuit’s middle infield.
Gold has been the Kettleers’ main producer this summer. The right-handed hitter leads the team with four home runs, 16 runs scored, and 19 RBI. He has a .263 average and .828 OPS.
