A is for All-Stars!: The Cape League All-Star Game is at Eldredge Park in Orleans on Sunday and the Kettleers are sending a whole bunch of their key players to participate. Eight Cotuit players are heading to Orleans including outfielder Parker Chavers (Coastal Carolina) second baseman Nick Gonzales (New Mexico State), pitcher Reid Johnston (North Carolina State) outfielder Allbry Major (Xavier), pitcher/infielder Matt Mervis (Duke), pitcher Matt Moore (Purdue) catcher Cody Pasic (Maine), and third baseman/pitcher Casey Schmitt (San Diego State). Oraj Anu (Kentucky) will also be going to Orleans to participate in the home run derby. The game’s first pitch is set for 6 PM.
D is for Dingers: Cotuit hits more home runs than any team on the Cape. They’ve averaged nearly a homer per game with 32.

G is for Gonzales: There’s simply no doubt that Nick Gonzales has been at the center of Cotuit’s success all summer. Gonzales has been on fire in his second season with the team. Gonzales has scored the most runs on the Cape (41), has the most total bases in the league (75), leads the league in extra-base hits (18), has the highest on base percentage (.453), holds the best slugging percentage (.652), leads the Kettleers in home runs (7), ranks third in batting average in the league (.357), and is tied for the most RBIs (27). With all those records there’s little doubt Gonzales has been the best player on the Cape to this point.
H is for Home Stretch: The Kettleers heading into the home-stretch of the season with just ten regular season games remaining. It’s a tight race for first in the West Division as Cotuit, Falmouth, and Wareham are all tied for first with 37 points each.
O is for Offense: Cotuit has one of the most productive offenses in the entire league. The club has racked up more runs (183), extra-base hits (87), and RBI (163)

raked both at Lowell Park and on the road all season long. But the two Kettleers have the longest road hit-streaks to this point in the season. Gonzales leads the Cape League with a ten game hit-streak on the road, while Major is in second with nine. The Kettleers also hold the longest win streak on the road, winning five straight between July 5th and July 13th.
