Telephone Scam Claims to be the Cotuit Kettleers

The Barnstable Police Department today Tweeted out an alert concerning a telephone scam in which a caller claims to be a representative of the Cotuit Kettleers and solicits bogus donations from victims.  The caller requests that checks be picked up in person.

The Cotuit Kettleers organization IS NOT conducting any telephone fundraising drive at this time.  Please be alert and DO NOT become a victim of this crime.  If you wish to donate to the Kettleers, you can do so on our website under the “About Us” tab, or mail a check to us at Cotuit Athletic Association,P.O. Box 411,Cotuit, MA 02635, or by calling 508-564-0000.
