WILLOWBEND HONOREE DINNER
Friday, August 4, 2017 | 6:30 PM – Public Invited!
Willowbend’s 2017 Honoree is “The Rocket,” Roger Clemens. One of the most dominant pitchers in baseball history, Roger was drafted by the Red Sox in 1983 and went on to achieve stardom for his many accomplishments on the mound during an illustrious 24-year career. Roger is the only pitcher in baseball history to win seven Cy Young Awards and the first to strike out 20 batters in a game—a feat he accomplished twice. An 11-time All-Star and an American League MVP, he led the Yankees to two World Series championships.
In 1992, Roger and his wife Debbie established the Roger Clemens Foundation to help ease the suffering of children, and to enable underprivileged, at-risk and special needs children to achieve their dreams just as he had his. A generous and big-hearted man, Roger has been a mainstay at many Southworth events going back to the original Willowbend Children’s Charity Pro-Am. For all his achievements on and off the field, and for his many humanitarian undertakings, the Willowbend community is proud to recognize Roger Clemens as the 2017 Honoree.
The 2017 Honoree induction will take place on the evening of Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Willowbend Clubhouse, 100 Willowbend Drive in Mashpee, MA. The program will consist of an open bar cocktail reception beginning at 6:30 pm, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner. Towards the conclusion of dinner, a tribute video will be shown and then the evening will culminate with a ‘fireside chat,’ during which Roger will talk candidly about baseball, his love of golf, and life in general.
The cost is $100 per adult and $75 for children under 18 for the evening and the dinner. Kindly RSVP to Marianella Van Etten by email at mvanetten@willowbendcapecod. com or by phone at (508) 539-5303.
