Three former Kettleers were selected in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft Thursday night in New Jersey.

Zack Collins (University of Miami), drafted No. 10 by the Chicago White Sox, Kyle Lewis (Mercer), drafted No. 11 by the Seattle Mariners and Justin Dunn (Boston College), drafted No. 19 by the New York Mets, were selected in Thursday night’s first round.
Collins, who spent just four games of the 2015 Cape Cod Baseball League season with the Kettleers, batted .154 in thirteen at bats in his short stint at Cotuit. The catcher is batting .358 for the Hurricanes, and has appeared in all 57 games this season. Miami is currently in the Super Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
Lewis was a 2014 Kettleer, batting .333 in six at bats in just two games. The Mercer outfielder batted .395 this season for the Bears with 20 home runs, appearing in all 61 games and leading the Bears to the Southern Conference Championship series.
Dunn, a 2015 Kettleer, posted a 1.96 ERA in Cotuit behind 18 strikeouts in 14 games with the Kettleers. The right handed pitcher out of Boston College posted a 1.49 ERA in 60.1 innings for the Eagles this season, appearing in 17 games.
