COTUIT — The Kettleers picked up their second win of the season and won for the first time in nine games, beating the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, 6-3, at Lowell Park on Saturday. The Red Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Cotuit countered immediately, scoring four runs in the bottom half of the first.
At the plate
Cory Voss was the lead contributor to the scoreboard, knocking in two runs with a double in the first inning. Jack Klein was 2-for-3 with a run batted in and a walk.
All four of Cotuit’s runs in the first inning came with two outs.
On the mound
Taylor Lehman was the star Kettleer on the mound, lasting five innings and not giving up any hits in relief. He got the win for his efforts. Ross Achter went four innings in his start and let in three runs.
