• Cotuit 5 Brewster 6
• This was the first game of the year called early for Cotuit. The game was called for darkness after eight innings.
• The loss snapped Cotuit’s two game win streak
• The Kettleers left 10 men on base, including the bases loaded in the decisive eighth inning. Six of these were left in scoring position
• Alex Haines (Seton Hill) threw a total of seven at bats that lasted at least five pitches, in his 3 2/3 innings. Out of those at bats that lasted at least six pitches, hitters went three for five with two walks. The one inning Haines did not have a five pitch at bat was the third, which he retired the Whitecaps in order. Haines allowed three runs on the day with three strikeouts
• Danny Diekroeger (Stanford) appeared in a game for the first time since he pinch-hit at Hyannis on June 23rd. It was his first start since June 22nd against Bourne. He played second base and went 2-5.
• Hunter Cole (Georgia) now is on a three game hit streak after a prolonged slump. He has reached base in his last six games
• Kevin Bradley (Clemson) had his first RBI since July 2nd at Brewster. Bradley had an RBI ground out in the first, and an RBI single in the third.
• Jake Fincher had two more steals today, both off his single in the fifth inning. He stole second then third. Fincher now has 9 steals on the season, five behind the leader despite having played seven less games than him
• Diekroeger missed a home run to left in the seventh inning by mere feet. The ball was blown by the wind as it hooked just foul of the pole. The homer would have put Cotuit ahead 6-5. Diekroeger ended up striking out looking
