COTUIT—The 2012 season hasn’t started, yet this is a time when Kettleers fans can get excited and let their imaginations take over. Every team is 0-0 and hoping to hoist the Mycock trophy sometime in the middle of August.

We can dream and visualize the ups and downs over the grueling 44 game schedule. There’s an extra inning thriller trying to beat the sunset at home followed by a road trip to one of the Eastern teams. How many wins is it going to take to make the playoffs? Can we line up the all important pitching staff to lend hope for a 16th Cape Cod Baseball championship?

It won’t be long before the crack of the bat and the popping of baseballs into gloves reverberates around that charming place called Lowell Park. The smell of food emanating from the Kettleers Kitchen just adds to the overall baseball experience. Which hat should I purchase from the Kettleers store? The PA blares with music and then the names of today’s starting lineups for your personal scorecard. The 50-50 raffle and “here come the Kettles” can’t be far behind.

It’s baseball in Cotuit 2012. It’s almost here. Have a hit. Can’t wait.
