Ryan Mock, PA Announcer
Ryan graduated from the University of Canberra, Australia, in December 2005 with a degree in Sports Media. In high school in Oregon he was a
four time All-American water polo player as well as a first baseman on the baseball team. Ryan works as a ski-instructor in the winters, and hopes to eventually become a broadcaster for a Major League
team.
Megan Kerr, Sports Writer
Megan returns for a second season as assistant web site editor for the Cotuit Athletic Association and the Kettleers. She plays women’s soccer at Harvard where she is a sophomore. When not busy making a name for herself on the field, she is busy studying history and literature at the honors level. Megan is interested in pursuing a career in sports writing.
Towney Godfrey, Broadcaster
Towney’s a senior Communication major at Virginia Tech. He’s originally from Plainsboro, NJ (a small town near Princeton). He’s been a New York Yankee fan since he can remember. When he graduates college, he wants to pursue a career as a Major League Baseball play-by-play announcer.
Benny Gordon-Goldstein, Broadcaster
Benny will be a junior at Boston University in the fall, where he is majoring in broadcast journalism. He is from New Jersey and a diehard Philadelphia sports fan. Benny and Towney previously worked together broadcasting high school sports.
Lauren Logan, Merchandise Sales Associate
Lauren will enter the 8th grade at Barnstable Middle School in the fall, where she plays field hockey and softball. A high honor student, Lauren has volunteered with the Kettleers for six years. She has participated in Destination Imagination teams since 2nd grade and has reached the State Tournament. A member of the National Junior Honor Society, Lauren also plays the flute.
Ryan Spilhaus, Game Events
Ryan majors in Public Communications at American University in Washington DC where he will be a junior. A native of Cape Cod, he grew up around the Cape Cod Baseball League and the Red Sox. He aspires to work for a professional sports team after graduating.
Caitlin Friedensohn, Game Events
Caitlin majors in Spanish and Economics at Tufts University and will spend the fall 2006 semester of her junior year in Spain. She plays attack on the Tufts women’s lacrosse team, nationally ranked in the top 20 for two years. A Boston native, Caitlin is an avid Red Sox fan and hopes to continue a career in sports.
Melissa Manning, Game Events
A Bentley College junior in the fall, Melissa hopes to work in the sports field. She has coached youth softball, baseball, and basketball and been a volunteer and mentor with youth groups throughout her high school and college years. She is also a Red Sox fanatic, and her favorite professional player is Vladimir Guerrero from the Angels.
Brian Urquhart, Game Events
Brian is a recent graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, with a BA in Sports, Entertainment, and Event
Management and a concentration in Sports Management. He is originally from Marlboro, Vermont. He is an avid fisherman and also
enjoys snowboarding, boating, and of course baseball.
Kristen Logan, Game Events
Kristen will be a junior at Barnstable HS where she plays varsity field hockey, ice hockey, and softball while maintaining high honor roll status. In July, Kristen will attend the “Presidential Classroom” in Washington, DC, a focus on National Security in a Democracy.
Kristen won a 2005 Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards Silver Key in digital photography. She hopes to attend an Ivy League college.
Pat Nelson, Game Events
Pat will be a senior at Barnstable HS, where he plays baseball, is a member of the Student Council, a member of the Interact Community Service Club, and a writer for the school newspaper. A high achieving honor roll student, Pat has played baseball for many years and has attained all-star status. A fine athlete and aspiring guitarist, Pat hopes to pursue a career in sports communications and journalism.
Jeff Weinstein, Game Events
Jeff will be a junior at Needham High School in the fall, where he has played freshman and JV baseball, and hopes to play varsity baseball. He loves all sports. Beyond high school, Jeff hopes to pursue a career in sports management.
Paul Rocco, Game Events
Paul recently graduated from the University of Scranton, where he majored in Political Science and played baseball. He is from Garden City, New York, where he helped his high school baseball team win a State championship in 2000 and played varsity basketball. Paul is a devoted baseball fan and aspires to a career in professional baseball.
Blake Blaze, Game Events
Blake Blaze will be a freshman at Barnstable HS. He recently received the NE League of Middle Schools Scholastic/Community Service award, the Barnstable Middle School Principal’s Award for Scholarship and Science for his team and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Blake loves playing football, basketball, and baseball and currently plays for AAU and Senior League baseball teams. His family of five boys is housing a Kettleer time this summer.
